Ethan Francis Cutkosky (born August 19, 1999) is an American actor, singer, and social media personality. He is best known for his portrayal of Carl Gallagher in Showtime’s series Shameless and Barto in Unborn.
Ethan Cutkosky was born and brought up in St. Charles, Illinois, United States. He did his schooling at Thompson Middle School and Bell Graham Elementary School. Furthermore, he attended St. Charles East High School in St. Charles, Illinois. When Cutkosky was four years old, he and his mother began doing photo ads together. Soon after auditioning for a few ads, he was asked to audition for commercials and then movies.
He had his first film role when he was seven, playing Carl in a Christmas comedy starring Vince Vaughn, Fred Claus (2007). The actor worked with Vince Vaughan, Paul Giamatti, and Rachel Weisz. Unfortunately, the role wasn’t credited.
In 2018, Cutkosky launched his own fashion brand, Khaotic Collective, and began producing music. On July 16, 2021, Cutkosky released a single called “Erase Me”.

Ethan was just four years old when he appeared in his first commercial. He went on to appear in several more commercials and movies. He made his first film debut at the age of eight in ‘Fred Claus’ with Vince Vaughan, Paul Giamatti, and Rachel Weisz. There was no credit for him in this film, because the role he played was too small.
His parents were very hesitant about him acting in such a movie and feared that it may negatively affect him. In 2009, he worked with Odette Yustman and Gary Oldman in the horror film ‘The Unborn’. The young actor convinced his parents to let him take on this role as well as appear in the independent film ‘Conviction’. The series ‘Shameless’ gave him his big break when he played the fifth child of the Gallagher family.
